How to Choose a Fertility Acupuncture Specialist

We feel that it is important to choose an Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine practitioner who is experienced, knowledgeable, and skilled in infertility treatments.

“There is a growing field of dedicated and knowledgeable practitioners across the country. Finding a qualified practitioner is key”. - Erika

Specialization in the treatment of infertility is a rapidly growing field within Oriental Medicine.  Many acupuncturists are choosing to limit their practice to the treatment of infertility and are pursuing advanced training and knowledge in the field of reproductive medicine.

When choosing a local acupuncturist to work with, consider asking the following questions:

  • Do you specialize in fertility and reproductive acupuncture?
  • What percentage of your patient load is fertility related?
  • How many fertility-related cases do you treat per year?
  • Of the cases you have seen, how many were successful?
  • How do you define success in the treatment of infertility?
  • What is your clinical experience in working with cases similar to mine?
  • Finally, if you live in an area where there are a lot of acupuncturists or several clinics specializing in reproductive acupuncture, you may ask the very frank question, “Do you consider yourself (or your clinic) to be the most experienced reproductive acupuncturist in this region/city/area?“
